Before Standard Import Export and FMC Motors, Francis Cuschieri started Standard Bottling Company Limited in 1953, a small business producing the local soft drinks Frisk-ee and Solera. His three sons Ray, Hermann and Johann all started working in this company at early ages, and have since taken over the running of the company.

 

Over the years, Standard Import Export and FMC Motors were formed, which was a move into Malta’s automotive sector.

 

Standard Import Export is responsible for the tyre business of the company, and represents main tyre brands with the likes of Continental and Barum tyres, American tyre brand General Tires, Falken Tyres and Ling Long/Green Max, amongst others. Apart from car tyres, Standard Import Export also provides truck, agricultural and earth mover tyres. An extensive amount of tyres can be found in stock in our state of the art warehouse, and we have identified a number of selected retail outlets were one could purchase the brands. Standard Import Export also imports all major tyre brands on order. 

 

FMC Motors Limited was set up in 1987 with the primary and sole objective of obtaining the TATA franchise. In 1989, the first TATA was imported in Malta, making it also the first TATA imported in Europe. To this day, FMC continues to support all TATA vehicle owners, as well as providing servicing of any other car brand. Apart from TATA, FMC Motors Limited is also an importer and reseller of Sachs Performance Clutchkits for auto and truck applications, Mondolfo Ferro and Cormach garage equipment. 

 

Our premises includes a fully equipped service centre, offering wheel balancing, wheel alignment and five servicing bays with extensive parking facilities, all designed to give our customers the best possible service.
